I am so glad that Matt and Melle invited us to come along to Splore Festival. We had one of the best camping spots, thanks to their friends’ effort to get there really early and shotgun a great spot for us! It was up a hill on a yellow meadow with view over the ocean. Splore Festival on Tapapakanga beach was truly a great Kiwi experience! Great music, amazing scenery and wonderful people made this weekend unforgetable. The stages were right by the beach and there were plenty of magical spots to be found along the water such as a lagoon or big trees along the hills. The stars were shining brightly and the music was pumping til late.  Live and DJ acts  varied from Psychabilly to Soul, Drum n Base to Funk on three stages.  One of my favourite Kiwi band was Ahoribuzz.

It unfortunately started to rain the first night, right at the end of the Erykah Bady show. Getting up the hill to the campming site was hilarious, as we were slipping and sliding in the mud! But by the morning, the sky cleared and Saturday was the best day at the festival. People dressed up in hilarioius costumes and the vibe was awesome. The organisation of the festival was excellent, and the staff worked hard to keep everything spick and span… especially after the rain. By noon all the muddy walkways and dancefloors were fixed with gravel and hay and even the toilets were cleaned… thank God for that! So, this festival only happens every 2 years… we were so happy to be part of it! Let s just hope that there will always be days like these!
